bread bowl breakfast

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • Salt And Pepper
  • Assorted Fillings (see suggestions below)
  • 8 whole Eggs

Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Slice off the top of each roll and scoop out the soft bread inside, leaving the sides of the roll intact. Brush the inside of each roll with the melted butter and season with salt and pepper.

Let your guests fill the roll with their favorite toppings (see suggestions below). Crack an egg or egg white on top, season with salt and pepper, and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes and then cover the pan loosely with foil. Bake an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the egg is just set.

Suggested fillings: grape tomatoes, cilantro, parsley, thyme, shredded cheese, herbed goat cheese, caramelized onions, pre-cooked breakfast potatoes, spinach artichoke dip, deli ham, cooked sausage, crumbled bacon, onions, mushrooms, spinach, feta cheese.

cravings…

i CANNOT get enough citrus. it’s getting out of control and it’s borderline weird. everyday, i drink a glass of OJ, eat 1-2 grapefruits, eat or squeeze some blood oranges and if i still need more, i’ll take on a lemon. WTF?

and if it’s not citrus i’m craving, then it’s breakfast sandwiches.

pregnancy is weird.

very, very disappointing.

so paula deen, who truly exemplifies and glorifies everything wrong with health and nutrition in the US, has just publicly acknowledged that she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 3 years ago. SHOCKING. but here’s the worst part; instead of using this as an incentive to DRASTICALLY change her eating habits and the messages about food that she spews out to the american public, she is instead now a paid spokeswoman for pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk.

just plain shameful.

yeah….the solution to living a better life is to MEDICATE yourself instead of getting up off your lazy ass and changing the way you think about food.

apparently paula thinks life is too short to give up on the foods she loves. well paula, your life is about to get a heck of a lot shorter. sad.

one of her most popular recipes: lady’s brunch burger - burger with fried egg and bacon on a glazed donut.

pot roast meatloaf.

i was feeling kind of old school today and i had some ground beef kicking around so i made this recipe from my new jamie oliver cookbook! it’s easy, tasty, comforting and delicious. i’m fairly decent at improvising the kitchen, but i could never have turned boring old ground beef into something this delicious without my boy jamie.

i highly recommend this dish!
